New Farriery Techniques

for the

Laminitic Equine

Laminitis is a highly traumatic condition for the horse to develop and a difficult, often lengthy and expensive illness to treat. It is a major vascular crisis that results in inflammation of the laminal structures and bonds within the hoof. The damage to the hoof tissue could be severe and cause rotation and sinking of the pedal bone.

This essential course will help you in assessing the acute and chronic laminitic equine’s feet and its on-going farriery needs and will include lectures, practical demonstrations and interactive discussions covering the following areas:

Modern materials
Properties and advantages
Usage and suitability in farriery
