Shoe Sizing

To assess which size of Imprint shoe is going to be the best fit for your horse, your farrier will measure across the widest part of the foot, and from toe to heel.

If measuring before trimming then an allowance should be made for the amount of horn to be removed, especially when there’s a fair amount to come off. The shape of the foot will determine whether an Oval, Round or Hind shoe is the best match for the foot.

Front Foot

Equine Front Foot - measure width and length for Imprint shoe size

Measure across the widest part of each front foot for the shoe width, and from toe to heel for the shoe length.

Hind Foot

Equine hind foot - measure width and length for Imprint shoe size

Measure across the widest part of each hind foot for the shoe width, from toe to heel for the shoe length.
