Fitting Imprint therapeutic shoes for laminitis

Prepare foot to attain correct balance and axis, preferably working from radiographs.

Follow usual fitting procedure.  When positioning the shoe on the foot, the positioning of the frog plate is of high importance.  Centralize and mould to mate the surface of the Imprint shoe with the frog ensuring the apex of the frog plate is not too far forward.

The solar surface forward of the frog should not take any load.  Ensure there is adequate seating of the shoe to avoid sole pressure.  In cases where the dorsal wall has been re-sected there will be no attachment of the Imprint shoe around the toe; it will bridge and protect the vulnerable sole.

The attachment of the shoe will be via the button indentations on either side of the foot.
